Bridge Pins: are found just below the tuning pins on any harp that has levers. The bridge pin is the one which touches the string but the string is not wrapped around it. The function of the bridge pin is to hold the string at the angle and height necessary to feed it properly into the sharping lever. Bridge pins hold the string at a fixed height above the neck. The ability to easily adjust this height is essential for lever installation and regulation. As with tuning pins, bridge pins can be either threaded or plain the former becoming much more popular in recent years because they are easier to adjust and regulate. Like traditional round bridge pins, these pins are designed to be pressed into their holes. The tops of the threads are flat instead of a sharp V, so they don’t ream the holes on the way in. Available in two sizes, these pins fit in the same size holes as round pins and can be used to retrofit a harp if desired.
