Sandblasted Tuning Pins: are a cylindrical wedge shape which is set in all the way through the arch. The string wraps on the left side and the end of the pin machined for the tuning wrench is on the right side. This is the traditional pin for lever harps. The socket on the tuning lever fits over the pin and allows it to be turned. Tuning pins are used on instruments where there is not space for a knob on each string. A tuning pin is constantly being pulled down and in by the tension of the string. The degree to which this occurs is directly related to the angle of the string between the string nut and the end of the tuning pin. As always, too much or too little of a good thing.
Sandblasted tuning pins combine the style and usability of taper pins and threaded tuning pin instead of threaded it have sand grip of fitting in wood. It gives extra grip in harp for perfect fitting of bond. Unlike of tapered tuning pins and threaded pins these pins won’t work loose or require resetting. These pins press smoothly and quickly into place with an arbor press, making it easy to achieve uniform alignment.
